Inventory/Buyer/Planner
Capital Industrial is seeking an exceptionally talented, dependable, resourceful, and self-motivated Procurement, Inventory & Planning professional. This individual would start out in our Inventory/Buyer/Planner role and would have the opportunity to transition into our Purchasing Manager based on performance.
Initially, The Inventory/Buyer/Planner will continue to cultivate relationships with existing vendors and employees by continuing to develop inventory accuracy procedures, seek out and develop new vendors to improve supply chain and drive down costs.
This individual will work within our admin team as ambitious and driven professionals, in an effort to better service our customers. Attention to detail, ability to respond effectively to changing workloads/priorities, and the ability to stay organized and adaptable in an ever-changing environment are necessary skills. A sense of humor, curiosity, competitiveness, positive energy, strong communication skills and a desire to increase efficiency would make you an ideal candidate for this role.
The Purchasing Manager would embody the qualities above and would also demonstrate a willingness and ability to lead by example, work with the team to overcome challenges, manage KPI’s, and make informed decisions. This individual is also responsible for recruiting, managing, and sustaining a cohesive and effective team, and helping team members further develop their own skillsets.
This position has a competitive benefits package, year over year increases in paid time off, IRA employer match, and a strong bonus package. Minimum of 1 year in a procurement type role with MRP experience and management experience would also be strongly preferred. This is a salaried position ranging from $40,000- $60,000/Year (Buyer/Planner) and $60,000 – $80,000/Year (P/O Manager), depending on experience.
Preference will also be made for the candidate that shows an aptitude for significant interpersonal skills, is highly organized, and those who express an interest and display the capacity to take on a leadership role is desired.

Responsibilities
Inventory / Buyer / Planner
MRP / Daily ordering
- Source new items from our network of approximately 100 vendors.
- Identify, negotiate, and establish new supply chains with vendors outside of our network
- Maintain our inventory database and update or add parts as needed
- Support our outside sales team with product information and quoting
- Provide inventory data as requested
- Manage pipeline for custom item generation
- Provide assistance and fill in as team demands dictate
Purchasing Manager (In addition to many of the above)
- Identify and develop new processes and process improvements
- Maintain and facilitate clear and direct communication with office, warehouse, and sales teams
- Short term and long term goal setting and strategic planning to obtain said goals
- Uphold and maintain the standards and procedures of the company
- Directly manage company’s profitability
- Identify and implement training opportunities as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong intrapersonal skills
- Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment; flexible
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and dealing with professionals inside and outside the company
- Highly motivated, organized, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
